Dragon Martial Arts Academy

DMA is one of British Columbia's longest running martial arts schools, operating continuously since 1980. Our black belt instructors provide a full curriculum in 2 different martial arts under one roof; making us Port Alberni's premier one-stop-shop for self-defense! After offering classes to friends out of the Chinese Free Mason's building on 1st Avenue, Mr. Warren Lee opened Kwon's Tae Kwon-Do for larger group classes in 1980. In 2000, Mr. Lee changed the school name to Dragon Martial Arts Academy. We strictly follow the original Tae Kwon-Do as taught by Master TS Kwon, upholding the Chung Do Kwon style for self defense. In 2002, we began learning Gracie Jiu Jitsu from the legendary Royce Gracie, becoming his first affiliated school in Canada. We have maintained a close relationship with Royce Gracie ever since.
